The short version: we collect nothing.
MemoFlip is a memory game. Not a data-mining product. This page explains, line by line, exactly what data leaves your Apple Vision Pro — spoiler: very little.
1. What we store on your device
The app uses UserDefaults (a small key-value store on your Vision Pro) to remember:
- Your chosen display name — the one you typed in Settings.
- Your preferred theme (one of 30 visual themes).
- Your audio volume preferences (game sounds, background music).
Nothing else. No timestamps, no play history, no leaderboards.
2. What we don't collect
- No analytics frameworks (no Firebase, no Mixpanel, no Apple Analytics opt-in).
- No crash reporters (visionOS handles crash logs itself, with your separate consent).
- No account system — there's nothing to sign up for.
- No advertising IDs, no IDFA, no fingerprinting.
- No location data.
- No microphone access. (We don't even ask.)
- No camera access. (Same.)
- No contacts, no calendar, no Photos library access.
3. SharePlay (FaceTime multiplayer)
When you play MemoFlip together via FaceTime, Apple's SharePlay framework synchronizes the game state directly between participants' devices over their encrypted FaceTime connection. The data exchanged consists of:
- The state of the card grid (which cards are face up, matched, by whom).
- Each player's chosen display name and player color.
- Whose turn it currently is, and current scores.
This data is transient: it lives only during the SharePlay session, in memory on participants' devices. Nothing is logged on our side — we don't operate any backend. Apple's SharePlay infrastructure is end-to-end encrypted and managed by Apple's standard FaceTime privacy practices.
4. Third-party services
None. MemoFlip has zero external dependencies at runtime: no Google services, no AWS, no Firebase, no Cloudflare, no Sentry, no anything. The app talks to your device and your FaceTime peers. Nothing else.
5. Children's privacy
MemoFlip is rated for all ages and is suitable for children. Since we collect no personally identifiable information whatsoever, we comply with COPPA (US) and the GDPR-K (EU) by default. The display name you choose lives only on your device.
6. Your rights (GDPR, CCPA, anywhere)
Because we don't store any of your data on our servers (we don't have servers), there is nothing for you to access, port, rectify, or erase on our side. Deleting the app from your Vision Pro erases every trace of your local preferences.
If you have any privacy question, write to hello@devpool.app and a human will reply.
7. Changes to this policy
If we ever materially change how MemoFlip handles data (we don't intend to), we'll update this page and bump the version number below. There is no email list to notify because we have no list of users.
8. Apple, your data, and you
Note that Apple itself collects basic anonymized usage information about all apps on visionOS (crashes, App Store interactions, etc.) under Apple's standard privacy practices. That's between you and Apple — we have no access to those reports beyond the aggregated download counts Apple shows us in App Store Connect.
9. Contact
Privacy questions, takedown requests, weird hypothetical edge cases: hello@devpool.app. We're a small team and we read every message.
